A MAN repeatedly demanded money off his brother and smashed the door after turning up at his home, a court heard.
Burnley Magistrates were told how Richard Peter Clarke, 33, banged on the door with a crutch he was walking with at the time and which police later confiscated and kept.
Clarke, of Branch Road, Burnley, admitted breaching the peace and was bound over in the sum of £100 for 12 months. He was also given a 12 month conditional discharge and was ordered to pay £200 costs after pleading guilty to damage.
Julie Reddish, prosecuting, told the court the Clarke brothers had fallen out. The defendant believed his brother owed him a debt.
Richard Taylor, defending, said Clarke had broken his knee and desperately needed the money he claimed his brother owed him. He couldn't easily knock on the door so used the crutch.
Clarke was on long term sickness benefit.
