STEVEN James Lomax, 46, of Rewe Close, Blackburn, was made subject to an immediate disqualification when he appeared before Blackburn magistrates and pleaded guilty to driving while more than three times the legal alcohol limit.
Scott Ainge, prosecuting, said Lomax was stopped at 8.40pm on Sunday after police were contacted by a member of the public who said he was driving while drunk. A breath test gave a reading of 120 against the legal limit of 35.
Louise Voce, defending, said her client had been for a couple of pints after work but had also been drinking at lunch time. He had not eaten properly for two days.
The magistrates adjourned the case for the preparation of pre-sentence reports.
