EAST Lancashire Hospice is appealing for support during their 'Coffee Morning Week.'
The Blackburn-based charity is inviting community organisations, schools, hairdressers, businesses, friends and supporters to hold get-togethers from March 22 to the 28th in aid of the hospice.
Harry Grayson, head of fundraising, said: "Last year's appeal proved to be a huge success, with £3,900 raised during Coffee Morning Week, so it is important to us.
"And many organisers look forward to the event as a social occasion as well as an opportunity of raising much-needed funds for the hospice
"Many businesses offer complimentary drinks to customers and visitors, with the cost being met by them.
"I would ask for them to consider during the Coffee Morning Week why not make a small minimal charge and donate the monies to the hospice."
The hospice, Park Lee Road, cares for terminally ill patients and their families from Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley and depends on the generosity and support of people from the region.
The mount needed to be raised by the hospice this year alone is £40,000 --and more if possible
Anyone who wishes to hold such an event and have posters and tickets personalised to their coffee morning can do so by ringing Anne or Harry at the appeals office on 01254 660900.
