ON most streets in Blackburn and Hyndburn notices are displayed warning dog owners to clean up after their dogs. I agree with this wholeheartedly, but why single out just dogs? Surely these notices should say 'all animals.' Take horses, I have yet to see a horse rider dismount and clean up after his or her animal. Likewise cats, one wonders whether they have owners.
I have no doubt that our four-legged friend the dog has been singled out from other animals and by doing this our councils are guilty of discrimination.
Finally, for those who want to know the answer to the question 'where do cats go?' My garden of course!
J ALLEN (Mr), Rothesay Road, Blackburn.
