GEORGE VI was on the throne and the Second World War was yet to break out when Vincent Howard first started to drink in the Old Cross pub in Radcliffe.
And now, at 90 years old, the father of two still pops in for a jar most nights, 66 years on. He even celebrated his milestone birthday there last Thursday (Feb 19), with his friends and regulars at the pub.
Vincent, of Cranbrook Street, Radcliffe has continued to visit the pub in Eton Hill Road over the years as it is so close to his home.
Landlady, Mrs Margaret Dawson, said: "Vincent comes in here every day, and we wanted to make a big deal of his birthday."
