A CAT used one of it's nine lives when it decided to take a nap under the bonnet of a Burnley man's car.
When Michael Brown, of Briercliffe Road, unwittingly started the engine the frightened feline got trapped in the fan belt. It took firemen 40 minutes to free the stricken animal, which was taken to a veterinary's surgery for treatment to a broken leg.
Also, hundreds of young dance enthusiasts from across Britain descended on Nelson for a three-day competitive ballet festival.
