RUBBLE and ash is all that remains of Claremont Elderly Persons Home in Prestwich as bulldozers clear the site for a new development.
The former Bury Council-run home was controversially closed two years ago and planning permission for residential accommodation was given by the local authority.
The building and land was finally sold in May last year for £2.1 million and new owners, Factfocus Ltd, were granted permission to build luxury apartments in its place just a couple of months ago.
The company has wasted no time in getting to work on the site as demolition started on the home last week.
