PRESTWICH carnival crown is up for grabs as organisers look for this year's royal representative.
With the town's biggest event of the year planned for Sunday June 20, in St Mary's Park, the missing jewel is a new Carnival Queen.
As well as a leading lady, organisers are looking for a Princess, Junior Princess and Rosebud. There are also vacancies for a special group of queens to represent Prestwich Lions throughout the year.
All those chosen will be required to represent Prestwich at a number of functions and they will get the chance to make new friends with girls of their own age.
Carnival Queen organiser Janet McAvinue said: "It is a great opportunity for local young girls to do something worthwhile and have fun at the same time."
Janet is appealing for girls who are interested to get in touch with her, then she will arrange a queens selection event at the Longfield Suite in March, where applicants will be selected to fill the posts.
Girls should be aged from five upwards and there is no upper age limit.
For more details contact Janet on 773 8467.
