A MAN was made subject to a community rehabilitation order for 18 months and a curfew order for six months by Blackburn magistrates after pleading guilty to offences going back up to three years.
The court heard that Liam O'Reilly, 24, of Wisteria Drive, Blackburn, had been convicted of handling stolen cassettes and using threatening behaviour in January 2001 and been made subject to a community rehabilitation order.
The order was revoked in March 2002 when a community punishment order for 120 hours was imposed.
Only one hour of the order had been completed and O'Reilly had subsequently admitted four offences of shoplifting.
Jonathan Taylor, defending, said his client was under no illusions that a custodial punishment was a possibility but suggested a curfew order would provide a suitable restriction on his client's liberty.
