A 57-YEAR-OLD man has died 36 hours after he suffered serious facial injuries in a road accident in Bury.
Alan Read, of Bramworth Avenue, Ramsbottom, was driving a Rover 414 along Bolton Road when he was involved in a collision with a VW Golf travelling in the opposite direction.
The accident happened shortly after 8.30am on Friday near to the junction with Spenleach Lane.
Mr Read was taken to Fairfield General Hospital where he was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit.
He died on Saturday night.
The driver of the VW Golf, a 37-year-old man from Harwood in Lancs, suffered minor injuries.
