VETERAN Gordon Armstrong has revealed he could be on the verge of hanging up his boots.
The Accrington Stanley defender says he won't be joining the Reds' adventure when the club turns full-time in the summer.
However, the former Burnley and Sunderland star could stay on at the Interlink Express Stadium in a coaching capacity.
"I spoke to John (Coleman) a few weeks ago and told him I probably don't want to go full-time next season," he said.
"I might stick at it part-time but I don't think I could do full-time training. My body's had enough, so in that respect I've made the decision for John.
"But I might lend a hand with the coaching. I've been doing a bit already here and there, with the defence more than anything.
"I've just been trying to pass on a few things I've learnt over the years to the younger lads, so we'll see what happens with that in the summer.
"But Burnley will be the last full-time club that I've played for."
Armstrong, who made over 100 league appearances for the Clarets, plans to spend more time with his family once the season has ended, as well as helping wife Wendy to run her photography business.
But he said he has thoroughly enjoyed his spell with the Reds.
"They are a great set of lads," he said.
"It's just a shame that, at the moment, we can't seem to finish off what's been a brilliant season.
"We've spoken about the FA Cup a couple of times but that's come and gone now and we can't use that as an excuse for our current run.
"We're just not performing the way we should be.
"But there are a lot of points to play for and the play-offs are still there to fight for."
Meanwhile, John Durnin said he is prepared to fight for a new deal.
The striker admitted that he would have preferred to have played more games but said he is happy to fit into manager Coleman's plans.
"Fitness and age isn't a problem," the 37-year-old said.
"If I thought I couldn't cope I would be the first to tell John. But I'm looking to continue playing next year and I hope I'm involved with Stanley.
"They're a great bunch of lads and I really like the club.
"I think I've done well in the games I've played in and if I'm named in the side I don't think I would let anyone down."
