POOR weather failed to dampen the spirits of more than 200 fund-raisers at Witton Park.
Blackburn Borough Rotary clubs held their annual fun run and walk yesterday in aid of Macmillan Cancer Relief.
Fund-raisers ranged from five years to 70-plus and completed the 4km course at various speeds.
Organiser Geoff Heap said: "It was a really good day. We collected £650 on the day in donations and entry fees and some of that will cover costs. But the main profit will come in from the runners' sponsorship. We hope to have raised at least £2,000."
The event has been held annually for nearly 20 years, although the distance has been reduced from four miles to attract more entrants.
