VISITORS to Lancashire will benefit from a new board designed to manage the county's tourism.
The Lancashire and Blackpool Tourist Board replaces the North West Tourist Board and will be responsible for managing the region's tourism.
Anthony Goldstone, chairman of the new board said: "The new board has the potential to make this region a truly fantastic destination for visitors. I am well aware of the huge number of jobs it supports and the vast amount of investment it represents.
"I am keen to look at how we can improve the skills base of our tourism industry, creating more attractive opportunities for young people who want to pursue a career in this exciting and rewarding field.
"I want everyone to feel involved in creating this new vision for the area."
