A NEW guide highlighting the attractions of Burnley including the town's forthcoming balloon festival has been launched.
Tourism professionals in the town and surrounding areas attended the official release of the Burnley Visitor and Accommodation Guide yesterday at Gawthorpe Hall, Padiham.
Two historic houses, industrial heritage, a beautiful countryside and a lively town centre are just some of the choices for a short break in the town.
Tourism development officer, Jacqueline Whitaker, said: "We are very pleased with this year's guide. It illustrates that Burnley is a town we should all be proud of.
"Tourism is worth more than £14.6million to Burnley and we need to encourage more visitors; the guide will hopefully help do this."
The Burnley Events Guide 2004, which lists over 150 attractions, from the 3rd Burnley Balloon Festival and guided walks around the Weavers' Triangle to Victorian Christmas celebrations at Towneley Hall was also launched.
Both brochures will be available from Burnley Information Centre and attractions.
