PARENTS and carers of children who have a visual impairment in East Lancashire are to receive greater support and better access to information through the launch of a new monthly support group.
The first meeting is to be held at Sparth House Hotel, Whalley Road, Clayton-Le-Moors in Accrington on Monday.
One of the aims of the group, set up by Lancashire Social Services, is to offer advice about the range of support services available.
Sheila Greenwood, rehabilitation officer at Lancashire County Council Social Services, added: "The support group will provide an opportunity for parents of visually impaired children to come together on a regular basis to share information and their experiences in an informal setting."
For details contact Sheila Greenwood on 01282 425961.
The group runs from 7.30pm to 9pm.
