A BURY College caterer has scooped a top competition award.
Liz Threlfall has been named Employee of the Year by education catering specialist Scolarest.
The 48-year-old, who works as a catering assistant at the Market Street college, won the top award for the further education sector in the company's Be A Star competition, which aims to identify Scolarest's most outstanding employee.
Liz from Bury, who has worked for the company for three years, won the title for her positive approach to her role in the catering team of seven at the college.
She cooks up delicious dishes for students and staff as well as catering for external college functions.
Liz was presented with her prize, a crystal ice bucket and £1,000 worth of holiday vouchers, at a special awards ceremony held at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London. Having never been abroad, she is considering where to go for her first trip overseas.
Amanda Stannard, Scolarest operations manager, said: "Liz is really a star. She sets a great example to new members of the team and she is always friendly and welcoming to staff and customers alike. She is a highly valued member of the team."
