ORGANISATIONS involved in art, sport, health activities, play, tourism or the countryside are being invited to take part in a summer event.
During the last 18 months, Rossendale Council's consultants Pan Leisure, have been developing a strategy to cultivate cultural activity for the nest five years.
Rossendale Alive will be the name of the strategy and the major event which will mark its launch.
Objectives include providing opportunities for young people, highlighting the assets of the borough including the countryside, Ski Rossendale and the strong voluntary sector.
Rossendale Alive will be a two-week celebration of Rossendale's cultural activity, co-ordinated by the council's cultural services.
Tracy Molineux, an organiser, said: "It is hoped organisations will get involved in organising mass participation events to showcase their activities and promote healthier lifestyles."
The event is planned to start on July 17 and will culminate on August 1.
Anybody planning to hold an event or want an organisation to be involved in Rossendale Alive should contact the council's cultural service section on 01706 244668.
