IRLAM MS...2 PRESTWICH HEYS...0: THREE consecutive defeats have not put Heys out of the Air Miles Manchester League Premier Division title race.

But with only four only games left, the chances of emerging champions have become increasingly remote.

Despite this result, Heys at least showed a return to something like the form they showed in the long unbeaten run earlier in the season.

But success revolves around the ability to score goals, which is something Heys have consistently failed to do all season.

Throughout the game they played attractive football, but rarely put the Irlam keeper under pressure.

The teams were evenly matched, and a good crowd at Irlam's impressive Silver Street ground was treated to an entertaining game.

Ashley Hoolighan, who had replaced the injured Brandon Jolly, had a goal disallowed for a marginal off-side decision, but generally both defences were on top, with McGee and Dydyna taking the eye for Heys.

After a goalless first half it seemed the second would go the same way.

But two errors in the final 10 minutes allowed John Robinson to score twice to give Irlam the win.

Heys could feel aggrieved, as their play had been worthy of at least a draw, but if you don't score, you don't win.

The reserves beat Elton Vale 3-0 last week, with Khaser Ahmed grabbing a hat-trick.
