IT is good news that Blackburn is getting multi screen cinema and that the Lord Square in the shopping centre is to be transformed.
Blackburn is also getting a bridge built on Bolton Road and the completion of a four lane road on Eanam to Burnley Road.
But why was this investment not sought 10 years ago?
Did councillors and planners have no vision for 21st century?
If you look at Preston, Bolton and Manchester they are 10 to 20 years ahead of Blackburn.
What has Blackburn to offer to people of East Lancashire with no hotel?
There are very few good restaurants for visitors to the town.
There is also a lack of parking facilities for coaches.
