A 25-year-old man accused of a serious attack has appeared in court.
Stephen Boyle, of North Lane, Astley, pleaded not guilty at Liverpool Crown Court on Monday to wounding Paul Whitehead with intent on December 30 last year.
He also pleaded not guilty to a lesser alternative charge of wounding.
Boyle was remanded on bail, with conditions including not to enter the Miners Arms, to await his trial beginning on June 7.
