CHILDREN in 20 Pendle primary schools will get an egg-stra road safety reminder with an Easter contest run by police.
Nelson's team of Police Community Support Officers are launching a competition for four to seven-year-olds to design papier mache eggs on a safety theme.
Each school will pick a winning design and a grand final will be held at Nelson Town Hall on April 21.
PCSO Joanne Billington said: "The aim of the competition is to teach the youngsters more about road safety in a fun and innovative way.
"We want to make them aware of some of the dangers as well as some of the things they can do to help prevent becoming involved in an accident.
"Given the age group, we thought a fun competition would be a great way in which to get the message across."
