A FURNITURE charity that helps needy people in Pendle to furnish their homes has received a £15,000 grant to help with running costs.
Colne-based Open Door Furniture Recycling received the cash from the Lloyds TSB Foundation, which hands out money to charities that help disadvantaged people to play a fuller role in the community.
Launched in 2000, volunteers from the scheme, located at the former Sefton works in Shed Street, Colne, take unwanted furniture from residents in the borough, restore it, and deliver it to those who cannot afford to furniture for a small fee.
