DIE-HARD Burnley fans have given the green light to the formation of a Supporters Trust aimed at safeguarding the club's future.
An open meeting at Turf Moor brought a unanimous vote from over 130 supporters, with many volunteering for direct involvement in the establishment of a Trust this summer.
Guest speakers from the Supporters Direct organisation, who have already overseen the formation of 108 such Trusts around Britain, were on hand to answer queries.
And after initial presentations and a thorough question and answer session, the motion to back the establishment of a Supporters' Trust for fans of Burnley Football Club was unanimously passed.
Planning committee member Tony Scholes, also chairman of the Clarets Independent Supporters Association, said: "This positive vote represents a clear mandate and will now enable wider involvement from supporters to set up the organisation."
