FORMER Lancashire and England star David Lloyd has heaped praise on the England bowling attack after their historical series success in the Caribbean.

The Accrington-born batsman picked out the men with the ball as the stars of the England set-up as they recorded a third consecutive Test win over West Indies at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados.

"What an achievement!," enthused the Sky Sports commentator.

"The England players have all done so well but you have to give special mention to the bowlers.

"The West Indies have a half-decent batting line-up, yet Steve Harmison, Matthew Hoggard, Andy Flintoff and Simon Jones have got in there and done the business.

"I haven't been this excited about an England team for years."

On the other side of the fence, the West Indies and their supporters are still trying to come to terms with the way in which their side has mis-fired over the three games - particularly with the bat.

Former West Indies pace bowler, and ex-Lancashire League professional with Rishton, Michael Holding said: "No one in the Caribbean expected this result.

"And especially in the manner in which England have exacted their superiority.

"Maybe now the powers that be, particularly in the WICB, will take a long hard look at every aspect of West Indies cricket to make some meaningful changes for the benefit of the game.

"That includes themselves, the administrators."

Skipper Brian Lara will now look to lift his side for the fourth Test, which starts in St John's, Antigua, on Saturday, and produce a performance that will lift them for the seven-match one-day series which starts on Sunday, April 18.
