MARK Patterson hopes his Magpies experience a collective Groundhog Day tonight.
For the Chorley manager would love nothing more than to see his side repeat the peformance which led to them ending a miserable run with a 3-1 win at Guiseley.
Patterson urged his side to grab the initiative with an early goal, and captain Billy McCartney answered his call.
After such an early boost, the Magpies always looked comfortable against their mid-table opponents, confirming Patterson's belief that an early strike would be key to changing their fortunes.
"We went from strength to strength after getting the first goal, so I'll be saying 'same again tonight please'," the Chorley boss said.
"The lads got a boost from the goal and went on to win comfortably. They couldn't have complained if it had been five or six."
And after ending a spell of seven games without a win, Patterson believes Chorley could yet be involved in the promotion shake-up at the end of the season.
"We've got six games left and are aiming for six wins, and if we can do that I would expect us to be in the next flight next season.
"It's a long shot but we've got to keep going and try to win our games."
Jamie Vermiglio missed Saturday's trip and could also be ruled out tonight with a knee injury while Graham Bennett will also be drafted in to replace goalkeeper Lee Bracey, who is absent for the next three games through work commitments.
ROSSENDALE are also in UniBond Division One action tonight when they entertain Bridlington.
The Dark Lane outfit will be desperate to bounce back from the 4-1 defeat they suffered at Matlock on Saturday - a game which was marred by poor officiating.
Manager Jim McCluskie is expecting to have a full squad to choose from as they look to end the season strongly.
