DARWEN Cancer Research's annual New To You shop raised more than £2,000 in one week.
The committee borrows an empty shop for the week and sells anything from clothes to small pieces of furniture to raise cash for the charity.
This year it took place in The Green, Darwen, and bags full of items were donated by local people raising £2,200.
Susan Whalley, chairman of the Darwen local committee of Cancer Research UK, said: "We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all concerned - the shop owner, the numerous people who donated goods, plus the volunteers who gave their time so freely, and lastly to the customers for their support.
"It is a tremendous result."
All the items which were unsold when the shop closed on Friday have been collected and will be distributed to the permanent Cancer Research UK shops.
