I WOULD like to comment on the state of Blackburn Transport in general and the Highercroft route in particular.
Since the demise of the Catch Me Com buses the No 4 Highercroft route has degenerated from poor to absolutely abysmal.
Thirty-five to 40 minutes wait these days is not unusual on a route that boasts on its timetable a 10-minute service and then to rub salt in the wounds three or four buses will arrive literally bumper to bumper.
Complain you may say, go to the top. Well I did or at least I called in at the Ainsworth Street office only to be met by what I must describe as a Blackburn Transport spin doctor who gave me at least 10 reasons why it wasn't their fault (traffic road works etc.) when it is abundantly clear what the real reason is, when the competition disappeared complacency set in.
If the rest of the Blackburn and Darwen routes are half as bad as the No 4 its a wonder anyone uses the buses, but having said that we are almost a captive audience.
JOHN SMITH, Abraham Street, Blackburn.
