FRUSTRATED Accrington Stanley manager John Coleman has admitted it's time to go back to the drawing board as far as his side's disciplinary record is concerned.

The Reds' chief was furious after two players were sent off in last night's Lancashire FA Marsden Trophy final defeat at Morecambe.

The second leg game was played in a good spirit until tempers boiled over in the closing stages, with Dean Calcutt and Rory Prendergast both being dismissed in separate incidents.

Stanley were losing 2-1 on the night - 3-1 on aggregate - when substitute Calcutt was sent off for an alleged punch on Chris Perkins after tackling Wayne Curtis three minutes from time.

Then Prendergast was given his marching orders for a high challenge on Garry Thompson, making no attempt to play the ball.

Coleman defended Calcutt but said he had no complaints with the decision to dismiss Prendergast.

And he was left frustrated at the fact that Stanley's red card tally for the season has risen to 14.

Such a high amount could land the club with an FA charge after discussions earlier this year urging them to clean up their act.

Coleman said: "There's no hiding from the fact that our disciplinary record hasn't been good enough.

"We felt as if we'd worked hard on discipline and addressed it but last night's another set back, so we'll deal with it again until we get it right and that might mean bringing some other players ins.

"We've already got a reputation for having a bad disciplinary record, and maybe that sometimes goes before us.

"I didn't think Dean Calcutt's was a sending off. He got sent off against Tamworth for getting slapped on the back of the head.

"But unfortunately Dean gets himself into areas he can maybe get himself away from.

"If you don't get yourself into troublesome areas, you don't get sent off."
