BURNLEY Under-15s made it into the final of the Lancashire Cup after beating West Lancashire 1-0 after extra time in their semi-final clash at Edge Hill College.
The sides were evenly matched and the game provided few chances as extra time beckoned.
The extra period proved just as tense with the game looking like it would be decided on penalties.
But the local youngsters dramatically grabbed the winner with just two minutes remaining when a Phil Pomeroy free-kick found the head of James Croker, who found the back of the net to claim a place in the final.
Blackburn Under 13s returned to winning ways with a convincing 6-0 win against Wakefield in their annual challenge match at Pleasington.
The Under-13s went ahead after 10 minutes with a 18-yard strike from Shaun Bradley before extending their lead four minutes later with a close range shot from Luke Gornall.
Ryan Steele headed home midway through the first half for a 3-0 lead at the break and a super solo effort from Chris Mason 20 minutes after the restart put the game out of Wakefield's reach.
Mason was on target again a couple of minutes later before Luke Charnley chipped in with an individual goal in the dying minutes.
Blackburn Under 12s also fared well beating Wakefield's younger representative team 3-0 at the same venue.
