I WOULD like to applaud MP Nigel Evans who has called for the suspension of the 'What Now' Youth Advice line, until the council commits to implementing all the recommendations put forward by an independent team.

Martin Tibbet, now 21, was jailed last year after being convicted of indecently assaulting a 13-year-old teenager.

The council are refusing to commit to change like scrambling callers' phone numbers and installing phone monitoring equipment which would allow supervisors to listen to phone calls on the grounds it may cost too much.

Can the council put a 'price' on a teenager's 'wrecked' life and loss of childhood, at the hands of a sex offender and the emotional trauma this child may carry into adult life.

Do they even care that this child is now undergoing weeks of counselling by a child expert, to help get her life back?

Thank god, for the NSPCC who are helping this family. They have been priceless.

Carry on the good work MP Nigel Evans. You may help save someone else's child.

A relative of the victim who cannot be identified.
