I LIVE in the West End of Morecambe and I have to say there are certain things that annoy me and make me wonder who makes decisions at the Town Hall.
For instance -
The steps that take you to Sandylands pool on the beach have had a new hand rail attached but lead straight into a big puddle. Whoever decided there should be a rail obviously never went there first and had a look because the puddle has been there for years.
The bus stop outside the Battery has been altered so that two buses can get in on one stand. But when there are two vehicles there you cannot see to cross the road on the zebra crossing. How ridiculous!
When you go for an evening walk on the promenade in winter you cannot see because there are no lights.
The new tableau of the view that is being erected on the promenade is a complete waste of money - all it does is block the view that is already there.
Bin bags and rubbish in the streets should be cleared every second day. I know this comes down to a matter of money but the council has tried everything from street wardens to prosecution without success. So admit defeat and get on with it.
On the same subject, I have a small van but if I try to take my own rubbish away I am not allowed onto the public amenity site at Salt Ayre to tip it. I know this is meant to stop trades-people but it also means people like me cannot help by clearing their own rubbish.
Who comes up with these ridiculous ideas.
Martin Davies, Morecambe.
