A LONDON based journalist is bidding to be the next MP for Wyre.
Anne Sacks, 49, has been selected as Labour candidate for the ultra-marginal Lancaster and Wyre seat, replacing current MP Hilton Dawson, who is standing down at the next election.
Mrs Sacks works for The Times and is also on Labour's list of North West candidates for this year's Euro-elections.
"I have been campaigning in the constituency since last year and my priority is to continue to fight for the people of Lancaster and Wyre and to take up the issues that matter to them," she said.
"I will be working closely with Hilton and local Labour councillors to promote the many improvements that Labour has brought to the constituency in the past seven years."
Her Conservative opponent will be Ben Wallace, a former Member of the Scottish Parliament.
