AN excellent display of courage and discipline gave Leigh Miners Rangers U11s a well deserved victory over St Cuthbert's.
A determined start gave the Rangers the first try of the match as they powered through a strong Cuthbert's defence to create an overlap for captain Liam Radcliffe to power over.
Cuthbert's hit back almost immediately after some indecision in the Rangers defence, to level the score at 4-4. The Rangers picked themselves up again and a magnificent 50 metre breakaway try by second rower Thomas McCall.
The second half began as the first had finished with a powerful display of tackling and creative attacking game which resulted in a further two tries to Rangers with a response of one from Cuthbert's.
Special mention goes to Ashton for his dogged and unrelenting tackling, McCall for his driving runs and to try scorer Eccleston, for a display of superb direction and leadership from hooker.
