TALENTED trampolinist Daniel Greaves is bouncing his way to the top and is now poised to take on the best of British.

The 11-year-old, of Pownall Street, Leigh, took part in his first national event in Belfast, Northern Ireland last weekend and qualified for his final level.

Daniel is now ready to fight for a place in the British Championships in July on his 12th birthday.

He began the sport just eight months ago when he was spotted by a trampolining coach in Liverpool.

Daniel was bouncing on the trampoline while waiting for the end of his sister's gymnastics class at the City of Liverpool club. His future coach took one look at him and snapped him up on the spot.

Since then he has continued to excel in every competition and last month he won the NW Regional Grade Three Championship in trampolining and double mini tramp.

Now after his success in Belfast, Daniel is looking forward to the challenge of qualifying for the British Championships in Birmingham.

Daniel said: "It felt great to do well in Belfast, the competition was tough with clubs from all over Ireland and some from the UK competing but I managed to hold my own.

"I'll be training hard and trying my best to qualify for the British Championship."
