A REVIEW of Rossendale Hospice is set to take place following the retirement of its founder Dorothy Mitchell.
The new chairman of the Rawtenstall-based hospice, Christine Durkin, is undertaking a review of the structure and members of the board of trustees.
The hospice boss wants to recruit more trustees who will be required to work with existing board members and to extend the expertise in supporting the work of the hospice.
The role of the hospice trustee will be to ensure that the hospice is viable, to monitor the performance of staff and to ensure that budgets are balanced and fundraising is supported.
The hospice provides many types of care from day care, a hospice at home service, counselling and touch therapies.
Anybody wanting to volunteer can call Christine Durkin 01706 874836 or e-mail chrisdurkin@totalise.co.uk or company secretary Peter Sweetmore on 01706 240083/244230.
