A 64-YEAR-OLD man was found dead in his house by police who were alerted by worried neighbours.
The man, who has not been named, was found at about 10.30am yesterday with a knife wound police believe to be self inflicted.
Police said there were other signs that the death was suicide, and some notes, at the address, in Beechwood Drive, Blackburn.
Inspector Steve Haworth said: "It is not being treated as suspicious. We were alerted by neighbours in the area. The house door has been left wide open and there were one or two other issues they were suspicious of."
The man is said to have lived on his own, and police said he may have been suffering from depression. Police are tracking down his relatives before releasing his name.
The coroner has been informed.
