THEY say everyone has a book inside them. Well mine must still be there.
However, I have been honoured to be credited in the acknowledgements in two, one for being the fool who typed it up, and the latest by Atherton sportswriter John Bullen, who has published a book on the 125-year history of the Lancashire FA.
I first encountered John when he submitted Atherton Town football match reports for publication many years ago.
They were so funny I looked forward to receiving them every Monday morning. His comments had the office in stitches and I don't know how he didn't end up getting battered by the much-maligned players.
John is now press officer for the Lancashire FA and was honoured to be invited to write the book "The Lancashire Football Association - A Celebration Of 125 Years"-- a must for soccer history buffs.
The 260-page volume chronicles the achievements of the Association's membership including 13 of the country's top professional clubs and includes details on all county cup competitions and Lancashire Schools' football.
The book priced at £10 plus £2.50 postage and packing is available from -- The Lancashire FA, The County Ground, Thurston Road, Leyland, PR5 2LF. Credit card orders can be made on 01772 624000
Nice one, John.
