ATHERTON Colls were at home to Nantwich Town last Saturday hoping to make it three wins on the trot.
An hour before the game Alder House was hit by a storm and the game only went ahead after a late inspection.
The first half was a dour affair only highlighted in the 45th minute when Andy Bridge burst through three tackles before taking the ball past the goalkeeper and scoring easily.
What a transformation in the second period. Nantwich equalised on 50 minutes with a controversial goal. Two minutes later the Cheshire side were in front, when poor defending allowed Melford Knight an easy header from close range.
There were more fireworks to come and on 55 minutes Mark Isherwood levelled the score with a fierce shot from the edge of the penalty box. On 61 minutes Knight put the visitors in front again but Dave Conlon made it 3-3 on 84 minutes.
The same player gave the local side the lead for the first time with only a minute remaining. Deep into injury time Colls contributed to their own downfall when they gave a free kick away and Tim Alexander fired the equaliser into the roof of the net.
Colls are at home on Easter Monday against Atherton LR with a 3pm kick off.
