IFULLY agree with
P Ormerod about the bin collection fiasco operating at the moment.
In my view, people have taken the re-cycling system on board, even if this means that many older, and in some cases disabled, people are inconvenienced with having to wash cans, bottles and sort them into the various receptacles, trudge down to the front gate (for some older people this must be an ordeal) then to sit back and hope that it will all be emptied, only find out that it has not.
Then they must return to their gate to retrieve said bin (still full) and wonder what on earth to do with another week's rubbish, wherever they can store it, with the obvious health problems that it will create.
The grey bins should be emptied every week, because these include left-over food. I know quite a few people who had a horrendous job getting rid of this material last year.
The council will have to address this problem if they don't want fly-tipping all over the borough. Too many times over the last year the refuse collection has been missed. Empty the grey bins weekly because these are the bins which are used most and the ones likely to be a health hazard.
I, for one, will be watching very closely how many collections are missed this year and would urge others to do the same.
