A DECISION on the future of Whitefield town centre could take several more weeks.
A plan by David McLean Homes to build a Tesco store, apartments, shops and bars will not be discussed at Tuesday's planning meeting (April 13) as first thought.
Town hall planners are still looking at the application in detail and it will be at least May before it is featured on an agenda.
Planning officer, Jan Brejwo, said: "The next meeting after April 13 will be May 11 and it could be discussed then, or even later. We are still looking at the application. "
Mr Brejwo said discussions were continuing with rival company Dransfield after a decision on their plan to construct a Morrisons supermarket was deferred last month.
