THERE are a few vacancies left in the Birds Chippy Rosegrove Mixed Doubles competition to be held at Lowerhouse Bowling Green on Lowerhouse Lane on Sunday, April 11 starting at 10am. Entry fee is £5 per pair, contact Brian Smith (01282 439579) or at 9 Dorset Street, Rosegrove.
CONGRATULATIONS to Rosegrove resident Michael Cain on achieving a BA Masters degree in graphic design. Rosegrove Action Group wish you all the best in your new business venture designing web sites etc., and Michael designed Rosegrove Action Group's website. Michael's family are very proud of his achievement.
AS usual the Rosegrove Railway Club was full to capacity for the star cabaret night. The audience were treated to a great night of entertainment. A raffle was also held and raised over £600 which is to be donated to Cancer Research.
ROSEGROVE Action Group would like to thank Lynne Blackburn for all her help and dedication in organising events in the past year to the group. Lynne was the local area worker for Rosegrove which was funded from the Burnley and Padiham Community Alliance. The group wish her well for the future and hope to see her back soon.
LOWERHOUSE Bowling Club's first bowling competition of the year was The John Nicholson Memorial Shield and was won by Brian Parkinson, and the runner-up was Alan O'Connor.
The security fencing is now being erected round the bowling green.
