LOCAL authority tenants have more than a foot in the door when it comes to having an input into a new strategy.
For tenants and residents are being put right at the centre of all decisions about housing services in Prestwich and Whitefield, thanks to the new Tenant and Resident Participation Strategy, just launched by Bury Council.
The strategy, which has been devised by the council's housing services team in partnership with tenants, was launched at the recent Housing Forum.
It gives tenants a real opportunity to get involved in decisions that affect them, their homes and their neighbourhoods. Bury Council is keen to thank the tenants who produced the strategy, jointly with housing staff and councillors.
Samantha Lloyd, team leader of the council's tenant participation team, said: "We want tenants and residents to be the driving force in improving and delivering housing services and there are a variety of ways to get involved. "Customers need to be at the heart of decision-making, so that our services are better targeted and tailored to meet the needs of our communities."
