GINGER McCain, who had trained the legendary Red Rum to triple Grand National glory, was helping Darwen's Bert Proos train his four horses in the build up to the 1994 Grand National.
Mr Proos, whose popular horse Rinus came third in 1990, was hoping to fulfil a lifelong dream and develop one of his horses into a National.
And Coun Dorothy Ramsden, of Rossendale, condemned youngsters causing a nuisance outside Greenfield Gardens old people's complex in the Haslingden area.
