HOW do I cope with all the recycling now expected of me by Bury Council?
I previously had a domestic bin under my sink in which I put a bin liner and then filled it daily with tins, waste meat etc.. When this bin liner was full I tied it up and put it in the grey bin like a dutiful Stepford wife. How many of these domestic bins must I now have under my sink if I have to separate all my waste for Bury Council? Perhaps a "waste auditor" like Councillor Stella Smith would advise me to take the new bins and boxes inside the house for a more direct route.
What on earth has gone wrong at Bury Town Hall? The average household has room for only one outside bin and, therefore, this is the most efficient collection system.
As a "flexible" Labour voter, I worry that at the local elections the issues of new bins, the proposed Westfield revamp of the market, and NCP's hounding of the motorist will result in a new banner being displayed in 2004: The Most Disapproved Council in the Country.
