JIM McCluskie believes Rossendale are going to have to do it the hard way if they are to finish in the top 13 in UniBond League Division One.
Dale are in 17th place at the moment and the caretaker boss has set his sights on four wins in the last six games to finish in a favourable position in the end-of-season shake-up.
He said: "It's going to be tough but while we still have a chance we have to go for it.
"I have been encouraged with our performances in recent weeks and if we keep playing that way then we are going to be in with a chance.
"But we are definitely going to have to do it the hard way."
Dale are five points behind Bishop Auckland, who currently occupy 13th spot, so they will be looking to pick up maximum points against Belper at Dark Lane tomorrow.
"We lost 4-1 at Matlock on Saturday in a game we really should have won but bounced back with a good midweek win against Bridlington," he said.
"There have been three different managers here this season which has caused a lot of disruption. But everything seems to be slotting in to place now.
"The only problem is that we are running out of games."
McCluskie said the addition of former Burnley favourite Jamie Hoyland has been a big boost.
"Jamie has already made a telling contribution," he said. "His experience in the game means he demands instant respect and he has come in and given the place a big boost."
McCluskie will give late fitness tests to Joe Quinn (calf) and Blake Norton (wrist) but otherwise has a full squad to choose from.
