DARWEN and Great Harwood Town are hoping to have plenty of ammunition in their armour when they go head to head at the Anchor Ground tomorrow.

Darwen boss Steve Wilkes has virtually a full squad to choose from, with Ian Lang being the only absentee as he has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a calf injury.

While Town manager John Hughes, who has been forced to field a young side in recent weeks, is expecting to have Ryan Parr, Paul Mashiter, Andy Taylor and Neil Kennedy back in the fold for tomorrow's showdown.

But they will be facing a Darwen team eager to end their derby hoodoo.

Out of eight games with their East Lancashire rivals this season they have picked up only one point against Padiham, who they entertain on Easter Monday.

"It would be nice to get six points out of our next two games, as that would also mean we'd have two wins out of 10 derbies," Wilkes said.

"Tomorrow's a big game for us.

"I'm sure it will be another meaty affair and my players have got to prove to me that they are up to the physical battle.

"We've been playing quite well recently and hopefully we can carry on where we left off last weekend."

Hughes added: "It will be a tough game at Darwen but we've got a few players back in the side and we want to go and enjoy it."

And he paid tribute to the youngsters who have been brought into the side in the absence of several key players.

"It was the first time that Nicky Hand and Liam Taylor played together on Monday night against Blackpool and they did well. Experience will come in time," he said.

"The more they play the more I'm sure they'll improve."
