I HAD my reservations regarding the black box recycling system, but the leaflet said "Rethink your Rubbish". So I did.
Instead of taking all my recyclables to Asda I put them in the black box and put them out for collection. I got home from work and it was still full, with a note stuck on it saying I had put "the wrong items" in the box and they could not collect it.
There was a thin cardboard box which apparently should not have been in there and, because of that, they didn't take any of it. Have our bin men really got that much time on their hands that they can go round to every house looking through our rubbish? I think not!
I have now given up on the idea of the black box and I will continue to recycle my rubbish at Asda. Therefore do I now get a reduction on my council tax or do I get my once-a-week grey bin collection back? I know what answer I will get. As your poster says, I've had a "rethink" and I still think it's rubbish!
