A TEENAGER was found asleep under a table at a school in the early hours, Burnley magistrates heard.
The court was told Lee Jarvis, 18, and another man were discovered at Earby County Primary School by police after the alarm went off at 1am.
He was arrested and charged with burglary but later, of North Street, Colne, admitted the rarely used charge of causing a nuisance or disturbance on school premises and was fined £50, with £55 costs.
Mercedah Jabbari, prosecuting, told the court the defendant told officers he had been drinking Fosters lager, met up with friends in a social club and they all went to the school.
Jarvis claimed the group went to the school to hang out and a window had already been broken. They intended only to look round and had not intended to cause any damage. He said he panicked when he saw the security guard and hid under a table.
Geoff Ireland, defending, said nothing was stolen and Jarvis did not cause any damage. The group was larking about but went too far.
