PROMISES to help with the housework and offer more babysitting were auctioned for charity and raised around £3,000 for St Leonard's Church, Langho.
Around 100 people attended the special Auction of Promises at Mytton Fold Hotel, Langho. The 105 promises ranged from baking, dog walking, ironing, baby sitting, two hours' driving instruction, making hand crafted cards and transport to and from nights out.
The Rev David Noblet thanked everyone who made a promise and those who bought them.
Lilian Hargreaves of Mytton Fold Farm, Langho, said: "There was much hilarity as the punters bid for half a day's hard labour by the vicar." A meat and potato supper, donated by the hotel, was also provided.
