BACUP...1 SKELMERSDALE...5
BACUP boss Brent Peters was far from happy with his side's application as they were well beaten at West View.
"We were battered because on the day the majority of the team approached the game with an attitude that was not acceptable," blasted Peters.
Bacup were behind after just six minutes when Skelmersdale netted from the penalty spot and two minutes later they had a second.
The Merseysiders had netted a third before Bacup grabbed a goal back just before half-time when Brian Welch ran in to challenge Skelmersdale keeper Rob Halcroft, whose hurried clearance hit the striker and rolled into the net.
But the second half saw the visitors take control and, but for some fine goalkeeping by Bacup's David Felgate, the damage could have been worse.
"My players know my feelings and I will not tolerate heads dropping," added Peters.
"Skelmersdale just had more hunger and desire."
